American Idol: Michael Lynche is axed, Casey James survived

    Thursday, May 13th, 2010

All power to Casey James as he survives yet another heat of American Idol while Michael Lynche, affectionately referred to as “Big Mike,” went home after the nationwide vote.  James, Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze went through to the Final Three.

Lynche was nearly out about a month ago, getting eliminated by the vote only to be saved by the judges, who used their only such save of the season. Lynche has been among the most consistent competitors on the show, with a fluid, R & B style and infectious personality.

He is immensely more talented than James – and probably Dewyze, as well – but it was Lynche and Bowersox squared off in the bottom two. That meant someone who didn’t deserve to leave was going home, and in the end it was Lynche who took the fall.
