Former NBA player Lorenzen Wright found dead – police say it appears to be from a self inflicted gun shot wound.

Thursday, July 29th, 2010
Lorenzen Wright, a former NBA player has been found dead on Wednesday in a wooded area off  Winchester rd and Hacks Cross about 15 miles outside of Memphis.
His body was found almost a week after his mother reported him missing.  According to Police there was some confusion when his father reported he was in Europe on vacation after his mother had reported that he was missing.

Eyewitnesses say that Wright, 34, appears to have died from a self inflicted gun shot wound.  The 911 call reporting a body found, has been passed over to the Memphis police, who are investigating his death.  The incident was originally called in to Germantown police.

Wright was apparently having financial problems and reportedly his house had been foreclosed on.

Wright was the 7th overall draft in 1996 and played for several teams during his 13 years in the NBA, including the Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies and Sacramento Kings and later for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2008-2009 season.

Connecticut News Channel 8 reported that foul play was considered at the time Wright had gone missing, but police report that they do not believe foul play was involved after examining the scene.

Is Cristiano Ronaldo Camera Shy?

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010
Cristiano Ronaldo seemed a little camera shy when he was spotted leaving the Standard Grill in New York last night.

Perhaps he has no more to say on the subject of the American surrogate who is having his baby.

Cristiano plans on raising  his baby son by himself.

It’s certainly not a first but a little less usual for a man!

Lawrence Taylor was Officially Charged with the Rape of a 16 year old prostitute.

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

Lawrence Taylor has been indicted on charges of raping a 16-year-old prostitute, committing a criminal sexual act, sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, and patronizing a prostitute.

He admitted to seeing the prostitute but claims that he only masturbated in front of her and never actually had sexual intercourse with her.

It cannot be denied that this is a serious crime against a minor but it also cannot be overlooked that given her occupation Taylor will not have been the only offender.

The question is will all the other men who have committed similar offenses against this young girl be brought to justice also?

But the dancer claims that Haynesworth hasn’t come through with that support.

Haynesworth signed a $100 million contract with the Redskins last year.

“This man is worth millions,” Mena’s lawyer, Salvatore Strazullo, told the New York Post. “She has had to apply for Medicaid to take care of her pregnancy.”

Strazullo provided the photos to CRIMESIDER.

Lawrence Taylor Arrested after Rape Allegation

    Thursday, May 6th, 2010

    By LYNN ZINSER

The former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor was arrested early Thursday morning and will be charged with third-degree rape involving a 15-year-old girl at a hotel in Montebello, N.Y., according to police.

The Journal News reported that the victim was a runaway from the Bronx who was taken to the Holiday Inn in Montebello by a pimp, according to Ramapo supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence. She was treated at a hospital.

“She was a runaway since March and there was a pimp involved,” Mr. St. Lawrence told the Journal News. “She got punched in the face. We’re not sure who did it.”

The police have scheduled a news conference for 3 p.m. to discuss the case, and have said Mr. Taylor will be arraigned on third-degree rape charges this afternoon because the victim is a minor.

Mr. Taylor, 51, lists his residence as Pembroke Pines, Fla., but he also owns a home in northern New Jersey. Montebello, a village in Rockland County about 25 miles north of New York City, is close to the New York-New Jersey state line; the hotel is located just off the New York Thruway.

Mr. Taylor, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999 and is considered one of the best defensive players of all time, had a 13-year career with the Giants that was marred by problems with drug and alcohol. He was suspended several times by the N.F.L. and was arrested multiple times for drug possession. In the past few years, Mr. Taylor has re-emerged as a public personality, including working in front of the camera on N.F.L. broadcasts, and has said his drug problems are in his past.

Last November, he was charged in Dade County, Fla., with leaving the scene of an accident. He was released on $500 bond; the case is still pending.

Officials from the Giants and the N.F.L. said they would have no immediate comment on the arrest Thursday.
