Sean Penn has to be the worst Drag Queen ever!!

Sunday, October 24th, 2010
Sean Penn as we have never seen him before (thankfully).  Yes we know he is mading a movie and that he is playing a retired rock star in This Must Be The Place.
Still he does look more like a kinda scary drag queen walking around New York’s Diamond District.
Getting in the spirit for Halloween no doubt!

Rehab For Lindsay Lohan, Not Jail

Sunday, October 24th, 2010

After failing multiple drug tests while on probation Lindsay Lohan attended a court hearing this week at the Beverly Hills Courthouse .

It’s difficult to decide whether the Judge did Lohan a favor by not taking the D.A.’s recommendation of 180 days of jail time after continued attempts at rehab have failed.

Instead of jail the Judge ordered Lohan back to rehab until January 3, 2011.
Lohan has a further court appearance on February 25th.

Matt Damon stars in Clint Eastwood’s “Hereafter”

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

Oscar-winning director Clint Eastwood ‘s latest directorial venture “Hereafter,” pulsates with intrigue and drama as it tackles the age-old question of life after death.

Eastwood adroitly weaves together the stories of three seemingly unrelated characters into one clear, compelling story .

“Hereafter” opens with a tsunami that devastates an Asian beach resort, where Marie (Cecile de France), a seasoned French television anchorwoman , and her boss and lover (Thierry Neuvic) are vacationing.

Marie is shopping for souvenirs and is swept away and then struck while underwater. She loses consciousness and is found by two men, who try unsuccessfully to revive her.

A few moments later, however, she opens her eyes to the world and the devastation around her. The experience proves life-altering .

In a working-class area of London where young twins Jason and Marcus (George and Frankie McLaren) are forced to deal with a deadbeat mother staving off social workers intent on putting them into foster care. Jason feels responsible for his younger (by 12 minutes)  brother Marcus , who dotes on the elder twin. Jason is hit by a car and killed, leaving Marcus devastated. He turns to a psychic in hopes of learning where his brother’s soul has gone.

In San Francisco, George (Matt Damon) is a psychic trying to bury his “gift” of being able to connect with the dead. Bryce Dallas Howard plays Melanie, a displaced Midwestern girl he hopes can help him start over. Things take a twist when she asks him to do a reading and the two go their separate ways. To get over the break-up, he plans a trip overseas.

The paths of the principal characters intertwine, converging in a complex, yet utterly plausible story.

Cecile de France, an award-winning Belgian actress, delivers a haunting performance as a woman tormented by the question of what happens in the hereafter. She is pitch-perfect, showcasing an inner resolve, juxtaposed by an incredible vulnerability and deserves the accolades she has received for her performance. Damon, too, is impressive, playing his character in a quietly understated way. Bryce Dallas Howard turns in a fine performance as Damon’s girlfriend, devastated by the secrets she has been harboring and which he ultimately exposes.

Anita Hill: Has no reason to apologize to Clarence Thomas for sexual harassment accusation.

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Anita Hill claimed she had no reason to apologize for her accusations of sexual harassment by then-Supreme Court justice nominee Clarence Thomas

The issue was reopened by Virginia Thomas 19 years after his confirmation hearings when she left a voicemail on Hill’s office phone “extending an olive branch” to Hill over the weekend. She asked Hill to apologize for the allegations that surfaced at Thomas’ confirmation hearings for a seat on the high court bench in 1991.

Hill, now a Brandeis University professor, called the message “inappropriate.” She is adamant that she has no reason to apologize.

“I have no intention of apologizing because I testified truthfully about my experience and I stand by that testimony,” she said in a statement obtained by NBC News.

Jury Selection opens in trial of Chandra Levy suspect

Monday, October 18th, 2010

This morning jury selection began  in the long-awaited trial that is expected to last five or six weeks, of Ingmar Guandique, who is accused of killing former Modesto resident Chandra Levy.

The potential jurors started by fillingout unusually extensive questionnaires.  Two questionnaires, including one that spanned 11 pages, were designed to identify individuals suitable to decide whether Guandique will spend the rest of his life in prison.

The 9½ years that have passed after Levy’s disappearance shattered a family and wrecked a political career.  It was reported that Levy had been having a covert affair with then-Congressman Gary Condit of Ceres and according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Fernando Campoamor-Sanchez, Condit will be one of many individuals the jury will want to hear from.

Prosecutors say Guandique killed Levy 24, who had just completed a Bureau of Prisons internship on May 1, 2001.  Levy died in the midst of an attempted sexual assault in Washington’s Rock Creek Park.

Guandique, who is now 29, is an illegal immigrant from El Salvador currently serving time for two attempted robberies in Rock Creek Park. The victims in those robberies are expected to testify.

After considerable anticipation court proceedings opened about 9:40 a.m. Monday, with the first panel of potential jurors entering about 10:30 a.m.  Levy’s mother Susan was not present, though she has received permission from the judge to attend the entire trial even though she may be called as a witness.

We’ll see with the speed of which that happens.”
