Not So Secret Wedding on Grey’s Anatomy!

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Despite being involved in a love triangle this season on Grey’s Anatomy, fan favorites Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) have a bright future, according to executive producer Shonda Rhimes.

“There is absolutely hope for Cristina and Owen,” she says. “They clearly love each other.”

According to sources this is absolutely the case and Cristina and Owen are getting married on the September 23rd season premiere of the ABC drama Grey’s Anatomy.

However, not everything is coming up roses, because a new hospital therapist, played by James Tupper, has been brought in to make sure there’s no post-traumatic stress issues with the staff following the massacre, and Yang hasn’t been approved to return to surgery!

Alleged Drug Cartell boss known as “LA Barbie” Captured in Mexico

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Alleged drug trafficker Edgar Valdez Villarreal, nicknamed “La Barbie” has been captured according to Mexican Officials.  The Mexican President Felipe Calderon is currently working on getting rid of drugs and drug related crimes in Mexico.

So far the efforts were very successful: LA Barbie is the third major drug suspect that had been captured this year.

Edgar Valdez Villarreal was born August on 11, 1973 in Laredo, Texas and was from an upper middle class family.  He excelled at football in High School.

Villarreal started to sell Marijuana on the streets of Laredo whilst still at High School and then he went to work for the Mexican drug cartel Beltrán-Leyva, an organized crime syndicate that was founded by the five Beltrán Leyva brothers: Marcos Arturo, Mario Alberto, Carlos, Alfredo and Héctor.

The drug cartel transports and wholesales cocaine.  They also produce marijuana and heroin and control many drug trafficking routes.  They smuggle humans, launder money, get money through extortion and kidnapping and if somebody does not follow orders or stands in their way they kill them.

Valdez is also wanted in the U.S. and a reward of $2 million was offered by the U.S. authorities for information leading to the capture of the alleged drug dealer.

With the capture of Valdez alive, officials hope to get inside information on the current drug scene in Mexico and the U.S. although so far the Mexican authorities have not announced whether or not Valdez will be extradited.

Video of cruel girl throwing puppies into a river sparks outrage!

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

FOOTAGE of another terrible case of animal cruelty has once again made its way online.  This time, the culprit a young woman is seen throwing puppies into a river one-by-one.

One of the puppies is thrown so high it narrowly misses the rocks alongside the water.  At one point, as the woman lobs another puppy that is black-and-white  into the water, she can clearly be heard saying, “whee.”

The clip comes only a week after Mary Bale a 45-year-old British woman was filmed dumping a cat into a bin.

Rightly, the footage has sparked online outrage throughout Facebook and the 4chan forums, the group of people responsible for tracking down the British cat-dumper last week.

“I would love to see that girl get tortured to the worst extent,” an anonymous user wrote.

“The problem isn’t just the girl in the video, it’s also the jerk who was filming it, and who posted it online,” another angry poster said.

PETA Asia spokesperson Ashley Fruno said the public would be surprised at how often this happens.

“PETA gets reports daily of similar animal cruelty cases,” she said.

“Video-sharing sites have unfortunately allowed uncaring individuals to publicise cruelty they inflict on animals.”

“We’re making sure that local activists in Croatia are aware of this horrible situation.”

Disney’s Toy Story 3 becomes highest grossing animated movie ever

Monday, August 30th, 2010

We have to say that Toy Story 3 being the best grossing animated movie ever comes as no surprise.  Even people like myself who are no lovers of animation laughed their way through this amusing tale.

Not only did Toy Story 3 break the record of the biggest single day collection for an animated movie in the U.S. at $110 million, the movie is set to cross the $1-billion mark by the end of the day.

The movie, jointly produced by Disney and Pixar, will be the highest grossing movie ever and the second movie from Disney this year to touch the milestone.

Paris Hilton arrested on cocaine charge

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Paris Hilton was arrested in Las Vegas late Friday  for possession of an illegal substance.  A police motorcycle officer smelled marijuana smoke wafting from a black Cadillac Escalade driven by her boyfriend on the Las Vegas Strip.  According to authorities, when they searched her purse they found cocaine in it.

Officer Marcus Martin said it was “a small amount” of the drug, a package of the size usually associated with personal use.

Hilton was arrested on suspicion of felony cocaine possession and Waits, 34, was arrested on misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

They were both booked into the Clark County jail, where Martin said Hilton was released without bail about 2:45 a.m. Saturday.  David Chesnoff, told The Associated Press on Saturday morning that he was still gathering facts about the arrest.

If convicted of the low-grade felony, Hilton would get probation. Any violation of probation would be punishable by one to four years in Nevada state prison.

Hilton was arrested earlier this summer after the Brazil-Netherlands World Cup match in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, on suspicion of possession of marijuana. The case was then dropped at a midnight court hearing.

Hilton pleaded no contest in 2007 to alcohol-related reckless driving and was sentenced to 45 days in jail. After spending about 23 days in jail, Hilton told CNN host Larry King that the experience caused her to re-evaluate the role partying played in her life. She said she wanted “to help raise money for kids and for breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.”

We wonder what the new pledge will be!
